This man gets almost £2million pay-out for discovering a Viking treasure

Thousands of cultures, religions, and cults have evolved on the different sides the world through time. Clearly, it is important to have a deep understanding of how everything evolved throughout the years.





Historians and archaeologists alike continuously seek for truths and facts of the past to abolish and replace established theories and misconceptions. As such, it is their delight to find objects and artifacts which were used by the people written on our history books.





Derek McLennan, aged 49, discovered an incredible haul of ancient Vikings in fields located in Dumfries and Galloway located on England in 2014.
The Queen and Lord Treasurer Remembrancer, David Harvie, who is also responsible for the treasures found within the country said: “This Viking hoard is one of the most important finds ever discovered in Scotland and is of international significance.”





The Viking haul included mainly coins, jewelries and pottery.







Among its unique finds are an early Christian Cross, silver brooches and bracelets, gold rings, decorative glass beads, bird-shaped gold pin, gold ingot, crystals, decorated silver gilt cup, and a highly decorated gilt vessel, which is a stunning and rare find for it is known to be one of the only three known examples.





These artifacts, which hold unique qualities and intricate details, will surely attract the curiosity of experts and researchers.







These were then decided to be preserved and displayed for people to appreciate.
