Duterte, do not care about Human Rights: "Gascon, I just kicked it!"

If President Rodrigo Duterte’s threats against Commission on Human Rights (CHR) Chairperson Chito Gascon would be taken literally, the latter would probably be a battered chairman by now.

This is after the President hit back Gascon anew in defending his administration’s war on drugs.

During a speech at a congressman’s birthday celebration, Duterte reiterated his promise to eradicate illegal drugs in the country before his Presidency term ends in 2022.

“’Yang drugs na ‘yan, if it fails or if it succeeds now, I will be there to finish it off. At least on the third, fourth year, mawala ‘yan. Even if I have to kill, I will kill…Hindi naman ‘yang kill na literally maghanap ka lang ng patayin,” Duterte said.

“But I will order you, before I leave the government, the shabu industry must be destroyed,” he added.

The President he will push through his plans despite the interference of the CHR chief.

“Wala tayong patawad diyan. Wala ‘yang human rights, wala ‘yan. Si Gascon, ah wala ‘yan, sipain ko pa ‘yan,” he said.

Duterte’s new remarks came a few days after he threatened to slap Gascon in case they crossed paths.

As of writing, Gascon has yet to comment on Duterte’s recent attacks.
