Popular American TV host Jimmy Kimmel is now tasting the wrath of DDS or Die-hard Digong Supporters.
This is because of his comment on his TV show where he blatantly said that the President of the Philippines is a lunatic and a murderer. He even made fun of our very own barong Tagalog.
This host thinks that he is just being funny but the attitude that he showed in his program only proves that he and his production team is irresponsible and unprofessional.
Well, we have to admit that there is some truth on Kimmel’s statement such as, President Duterte is really ordering the police to kill criminals. However, it seems that Kimmel deliberately or not didn’t mention that the President’s order is only applicable to those criminals who refused to be arrested.
That is actually unfair. We Filipinos who loves laughing and getting mad at something like this Kimmel’s statement is something. The joke itself is not offensive but the absence of factual basis on his statement made the entire nation angry with him.
Imagine, saying that the President of a sovereign country, who won overwhelmingly against his opponents, and has the Mandate of the entire Filipino people, is a lunatic and a killer? isn’t that disrespectful to the highest level? We will not be surprised if Filipinos will request for this moron to be a persona non-grata in the country.
Kimmel’s comment on our very own Barong Tagalog added insult to the injury. Is he even aware that the dress President Donald Trump is wearing is the National Dress of the Filipino nation? well if not then the researchers are so incompetent and the producers are so stupid to let somebody insult a national identity. Isn’t that racism of some kind?
On the comment section of every page, where the video below is posted, you could see that hate message flooding against Kimmel. If those messages can kill a person then Kimmel’s situation now is worse than those terrorist victims.
The bottom line of the comments is: It is ok to make fun of something or someone, however, we have to make sure that reference is true and factual otherwise it will just worsen a national problem which involves the lives of the entire Filipino nation.
We hope Mr. Kimmel will learn his lesson and issue a public apology not to the President but the to all the Filipino people who gave their mandate to President Duterte. A duly elected President of the Philippines.
